Pig roast 1

On May 29th Troy is going to put on his first attempt at roasting a pig. Well one of the first things you have to do is build a pig pit to roast it on. So I done a little bartering and got us some metal and away we go. We built a frame out of stainless steel angle and covered it with stainless steel expanded metal. We built two of these so that we could put one on top and one on the bottom of the pig , bolt them together and be able to flip the pig.
After I got it welded together Troy wanted to do some welding on it since it was his pig pit. I was all for it ,knock your self out.
Did I mention that he only tried Tig welding one other time? So he set off at his attempt at welding this thing together. Barry on the left with his supervisors helmet on and Elton in the center watched as Troy proceeded on with his mission.

Once the welding was done the big test. How much weight will it hold? The first test was a pack of hot dogs. Looking good , no problems. Next test.

KT on board at 70 pounds and still looking good. We finally had over 200 pounds on it and it didn't even bow so I think we will be good for the pig roast. But for now we have to get the Trials out of the way at Fearless Charlies and then there will be some up dates on the pig roast. Ya'll come out now ya hear.
