Hot laps
On Saturday Troy and I got the go-karts out for a shake down to see if the chains would stay on and the clutches didn't slip and so on. We also tried to wear the grass off the track. As you can see in the picture below that Troy was tearing it up , but we still got a ways to go.
Since it was only 30 some degree's our track time was limited. You get all pumped up while your on the thing though and forget about the temperature for a little while. I found that a full face helmet with a shield sure keeps the old head warm. The track is pretty smooth right now and stayed kinda wet in the far corner which made it a drivers track. You had to hit your lines or else you would spin and get hit. Below is a clip of Troy putting the Purple kart through it,s paces. Can't wait to get all 4 out at the same time....

Slammin' Sammy Swindell ain't got nothing on old T-Rex!
Damn that looks like fun! I think we have too many rocks in the field to try that here.
Chapel Hill International Speedway, open for business. Is there room in the infield for a bunch of campers, drinkers and rowdy fans? It's too damn cold to spend the night, but I'd pull my camper down and park it, just to help the place look offical. PIT PASSES!!!
14 to 16 second laps. Sliding side by side. Hell ya its fun.Not a lot of room in the infield , but plenty of room around the out side of the speedway. We'll look at getting some bleachers built.
Let us know when the opener is and we will try to be there!
