Steaming

This past weekend I went out to the Ranch in Dickson to help set up the final Trials of the year and the first Trials of next year. Every time I go through Dickson the route I take takes me past this beautiful old steam engine from the 1920's.

The wheel on the back of the engine is about 12 feet tall and the length of the engine is probably 30 feet long. If you read the story on the engine it was used for everything from building materials to baseball bats.

Dickson is a historical town and is really cool to see how towns used to be layed out. The down town area reminds me of the old towns where I grew up in Iowa. Maybe I can get some good pictures of the OLD DOWN TOWN AREA. Can you imagine a factory powered by a single steam engine these days. How about a steam powered Nintindo.
I love Vintage stuff.

Titan's vs Raven's

This past Sunday Barry was lucky enough to get his bosses tickets and was nice enough to invite me to sit with him. So we got to migrate down from our seats on the summit to the lower level. Not the front row but damn fine seats to say the least. This game was what we called the Titan's home coming because 3 of our best players now play for the Ravens. The Ravens are on their way to the play offs and the Titans are in the shitter.

On this play we did drive Steve McNair out of the back of the endzone for a safety. The Ravens did rally back and won the game 27 to 26 by blocking a chip shot field goal with a few seconds left in the game.

Did I mention that you can see the cheerleaders from these seats to. This is where the Titans come out of the tunnel at the beginning of the game. Very nice.
Also being in the music city you never know who you might run into. The celebrities are always popping up when you least expect it. I think we all know this next gentleman....and they said he was dead!!! I think not.

I.T.S.A. Trials

This past Saturday we had the 7th ITSA round and the final Midwest round of trial in Marion Ill. It was a little chilly standing around , but was great riding weather. This was the easiest trials I've ridden so far and the shortest. None the less we had a good time. Charlie Nash debut his latest creation and won the Midwest modern classic novice class.

This thing started life as a XL 185 Honda and now lives as a super modified trials bike. Good job Charlie.
Parked next to me was a couple of guys from Cedar Rapids Iowa with a couple of sweet early 70's Ossa flat trackers. I guess I should have gotten their names but I was so busy signing my autogragh I forgot.

I did win the Modern Twin shock novice class and didn't loose any body parts so it was a good day. The last ITSA round will be Dec. 2 at the Ranch in Dickson. Ya'll come out now ya hear.
