Christmas

On the 26th the kids were coming over for Christmas so we got up early to get everything ready. Once I got up I seen that we had a blizzard that night. So I got the 4-wheeler out and hooked up the blade and went to work at clearing the massive amounts of snow from the driveway so the kids could get their cars in and out. After laboring for hours removing the snow from the drive I had to take to the ice packed roads for a little fun.
I practiced my Nascar 200 mph spin at Daytona for a little while until I almost took out the neighbors mail box. Pretty cool to get a run in the grass and then hit the ice covered road and spin and slide for a 100 feet.

Then I thought I would slow it down a bit and get the motorcycle out. I still can't believe how much traction these tires get in the snow.

The kids showed up about noon and we watched some old home movies ,then a ball game broke out and a snowball fight. Before the day was over with I thought we was going to run out of snow. Hope that everyone had as great a time as we did.

No way

I came home from work the other night and Linda met me when I came in as she always does. After our normal greetings; she gets all excited ..not that kind of excited. She tells me that while going through some of her things she has come across something pretty rare. Now, I'm hoping its money or some beer that we didn't know we had. This was not the case. She has found a book, but not just any book! A perfect copy of Little Black Sambo. There is not a scratch nor tear or even a finger print on this book. I was like- damn, I haven't seen one of those since I was ( don't know) 8 - 10 years old. Then I got to thinking. This was a kids book that we all read when we was growing up and didn't think a whole lot about it. However, there is no way this book could be published today. The title alone would send the nation into a tail spin of racism. I'm sure Ophra would do a show on it.
I don't know; I think we are a little sensitive about some of this stuff. Little Ebony African American just doesn't sound right. This is a picture of the actual book and it's still some good reading.
This post was fixed up by Linda White.

Griswalds

For the first year since 1980 when I moved in this house I decided to put up some lights just like the Griswalds. Linda was going through her Christmas decor of lights and ornaments and found some outside lights. Well I said I could put them on the Spruce tree in front of the house. So 5 hours later after checking and changing bulbs , getting the lights untangled and dragging them all over the yard we came up with this beautiful display of Christmas spirit.
This was only 2 stings of lights. The people who put up lights all over the yard and house up on the roof I feel for you , but then again you could just put up 2 strings of lights and not fool with all that not to mention your electric bill. We will see how this goes and who knows what we will have next year. Oh ya "shitters full"
