A few days off

The boys and I will be on our way to Bristol Tn. for N.H.R.A. drag races today for some horsepower therapy that is out of this world. Night qualifying tonight for the , as they call it the night of fire. To sweet. I can't wait to see the Top fuel Harley's. When I seen them on TV they looked like they had the control of a new born colt, they think they know where they are going , but it just don't work out all the time, or most of the time. Hopefully I will be able to get some good girly pictures , but the weather is supposed to suck so we'll see. Be back Sunday night.

Times running out

One last modification before I take it to B&J . This is the chain guard mount and a eye sore oiling hole. I cut the bracket off and repositioned it to fit the Nubbie and filled the hole with weld as it would no longer be needed.

About a 30 minute job and here you have it. The Nubbie mounted and a cleaner looking swing arm.
I like it.

Bowling scores

We got one more week of bowling and It can't come to soon. 33 weeks is a long time , but when September rolls around I'll be ready to go again. If you will remember last week Gettin wood Kicked our ass , but this week they had some kind of let down , or reality check.

Buying time

A week ago I was out at the ranch for a little riding and fun with the boys. The Guru told me of a little prodject that would buy him some time to get my motor done. So my first question was whats this going to cost? No no no you being the welding expert that you are this will be a piece of cake. Well liking to be buttered up and all I said OK what is it. You need to move your rear shocks down to give you more travel and a smoother transition over obstacles. Well my head is still swollen from all the flattery so I said OK. I got the shock mounts made and welded to the
frame and ready for the crew at B&J to make the new Falcon shocks to fit it. A blog to come in the near future. I was out in the garage and looking at my bike I noticed a slite problem. The chain guard was going to be in the way of the new shock location. So I went to work on the problem. The first picture is the stock chain guard. I then took out my snips and cut about 3 1/2 inches out of the main body. This thing is made of 20 gauge material or less so tig welding was the only option. I fired up the old welder , turned her down and got after it. This went pretty well , as I didn't have to chase any holes for an hour like when I welded the tank.

So now that thats done all we got to do is a little grinding and its off to the paint booth , ( a bungie cord hanging from the rafters). After a couple of Miller Lites she's ready for installation. This is my version of the Nubbie. I'll bet the Guru didn't think of this being a problem. I can't wait to strap my ass to this thing. Modern Twin Shock look out!

battle royal

This Monday was the battle of the fiercest competitors that ever steppted foot in a bowling alley. The mighty Seaman against Gettin Wood. Oh ya everybody thinks they have seen this on HBO , but I'm talking real bowling. The Seaman are known all over Smyrna for the ass whipping they hand out all year long. I don't know if someone forgot to tell Gettin Wood or what but the Seaman took an ass whippen like I don't know what. I was sure a 300 seires would be good enough to win all 3 games , but I guess I was wrong. These nuts didn't realize that they had all ready lost before we got started. Yhey are messing with the Cpt. and his crew. Thats like pulling on Supermans cape. Well someone must have brought the Criptanite with them cause we took a ASS WHIPPEN like I don't know what. Good job by The whole team . they did what they had to do. My team did their job but the Cpt. abandoned ship.

riding styles

Here are a couple of different riding styles. The first one is me on a KT in the creek section at the Ranch.

The next picture is how Brooklyn rides a KT. You can see the difference , I'm more uprite , in this picture anyway.
KT is a Collie mix that I got from the pound last July. He was left by a woman in front of Walmart in a box. He was the last one in the litter and so she just walked off and left him. This dog is as gentle as they come , but some times forgets that he out weighs the grandkids by about 50 pounds. Brooklyn tries to ride him but so far KT has the upper hand. He's a great dog , but has been spoiled a little by Patsy.
Scroll down to the next 2 blogs cause I skipped one.

Just talking

You know some times you just have to get away from things to talk and have a good time at the same time. Nate and I went out to the lake to do just that. We talked about everything from work to life and kids. I felt like the world was a better place after we talked.
One thing that pissed me off was while we were fishing a man ( and I use this term loosely ) pulled up and him and his son ( about 5 years old ) got out of their truck. The kid run right to the water and threw a Pringles can in the water. Now I know that kids love to throw things in the water. I have taken my grandson to do just that , but he threw rocks or sticks in the water that didn't hurt anything. The father of this kid didn't say a word and the can just floated there by the bank. When we got ready to leave I picked the can up out of the water and put it in the trash can that was about 8 feet from the spot were he threw it in. What really pissed me off was his dad didn't say a word about trashing up the lake and some day he might have to walk across the trash to get to the water if everybody uses the lake for a dump. I want everyone to take a kid fishin and teach them that the lake is not a land fill. If it is treated that way there will soon be a lot of land fills around and no lakes. If you take it with you , take it back with you. This isn't only fishing but what ever you do , in the woods or in the mall , do the right thing.

YIKES!!

Sorry for the delay , but I couldn't get my camera to down load. Last Friday ( 4/7/06 ) I was watching the storms go by and then here comes another one. Tornadoes popping up all over middle Tennessee. Hail anywhere from pee size to softball size. About Three or Four storms went by and I just happened to look out the front door to see this thing. After watching it for a few seconds I couldn't see any rotation , but it made you want to piss down both legs. I was lucky not to get any damage. Other than my underwear.

hell ya

I wish I could have helped my team out , but it turns out that they didn't need it. Henry got in the 200 groove and Allen threw a 299 the last game. He got robbed on the last ball with a wobbling 7 pin. I didn't get the scores from the other bunch , but it didn't look good. I threw a 134...183....183.

Ok , so now we head to the golf course. I want to welcome back Larry Cason ( Hog Head ) who missed the last 2 years because of a weight problem, but after loosing at last count 80 pounds and getting down to a thin 310 can play the game that he so loves. You will notice that right out of the gate he kicks my ass , and thats great because I was worried he would never play again.
I don't care if your golfing or bowling or riding motorcycles. Its just fun hanging with your buds and having a good time. We all got jobs that keeps us on edge so if what you do for fun pisses you off you need to quit having fun and get another job.

bowling

Well things ain't gettin no better. The weathers getting warmer and its stays light longer so its hard to do anything indoors. I got started good and thought it mite be a good night but I managed to screw it up. Barry and Jereme had a hard time of it as well , but Jennifer had a real good night , bowling above her average all 3 games.

Jereme...105...145...125
Barry...134...151...135

I thought that since the time had changed and it was nice out that we would play golf. Once again the scores kinda sucked. The first hole I was one over , over to the right and in the creek.
Second hole I was two under , under a tree twice.
Third hole two over , hit over the green twice. And so on and so on. Had a good time even if I can't golf worth a rats tail.

Real toys

I was worried about the grandkids coming to the trials an not having too much fun and worrying their parents to death. You know you can only get so excited about watching Grandpa coming around every hour or forty five minutes , ride through a section for a minute or minute and a half and then ride out of site. I was pleased to see that these Three went back to the time when you had to make your own fun and sometimes your own toys. I'm going on 50 years old and I can remember having a cheese breakfast finding a log to walk on or a creek to play in or just a

good old stick and rock. These Three still like the video games and the TV but it still does my heart good to see kids being kids , getting dirty or wet , picking up a frog or bug and not getting rushed to the emergency room to get there hand sanitized or put in a plastic bubble for a couple of days to keep them from getting germs or cooties. Just so you will know all of these kids had a dog in the house from the day they were born and to my knowlege have no abnormalities because of it. Let kids be kids and they will grow up to be just fine , Hell I almost did.
