support team

I just want to thank my support team. After going to the world round a couple of weeks ago I got a good dose of what its like to run around the woods climbing hills, walking through the mud, carrying cameras and coolers.

on the links

I forgot to put up last weeks scores so I put them together this week.

Here is a picture of Hoghead (Larry) who was kind enough to join us this week.Hog has lost a lot weight that kept him from playing the game he loves for a couple of years and its good to have him back.

This is a picture of Henry picking up a putt and grinning after taking a big lead on the two of us. As you can see from the score card I was sucking hind tit until I was lucky enough to par the last 2 holes for the come back of the year. I don't know what happened to Dave this week, hell we let him win last week.

BAD BOYS

I went to the World round of trials this past week end and I can't tell you how humbled I was when I left there. This picture doesn't do them justice at all.

These guys were jumping rocks 7 or 8 feet tall straight up and making it look like you walking up the steps to your house. Unreal! If you ever get a chance to see these guys go. It is the best show you will ever see, even if your not a rider you will enjoy yourself. I just can't explain it.

Almost ready

After all the damage of the week end at the ranch , I came home and worked on the hot rod for a little while. In the first pic you can see that the B&J,Miller Lite ,Renthal ,Metro , U.S.Army , DG chain , Kawasaki is looking good. You can see the difference in the rear travel from 4 inches to 7 inches and the shock angle.

The next pic show's the custom made shock mounts, new foot pegs , that had to be lowered for the extra travel added by the shock modification. The oil plug was removed and welded up on the swingarm just so it would be pretty. The motor is still in the shop but should get it back in the next couple of days. HAA just kidding Bob.

mothers day

This is the beautiful lady that is my mother. I'm not sure how she raised the eight of us and lived to tell about it , but she did. Us kids were not always the angels that we are now, but Mom always supported us. Working when , at the time women stayed home and took care of the house and kids. With a house full like ours this wasn't possible. Going with out as far as all the latest toys and fashions, but never food we had to make our own fun. Turns out that this was not a bad thing because it made us think and create ways to entertain ourselves. Unlike the baggy clothed X-box generation you see today. In the mid 70's Mom and Dad rarely missed one of my moto-X races , even though they thought I was crazy for doing it. She has shown us that you don't have to be number one to be loved after all she is the biggest Cubs fan there is.

You only have one mother and I hope that everyone has a mother that is as wonderful as mine.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM. LOVE YOU.

I.T.S.A. trials

Saturday will be the third round of the I.T.S.A. trials series. Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy a day of entertainment and fun. I have been practicing all the sections with the B&J crew trying to get a leg up on the competition.

Ya'll come on out and you can even attend one of my strategy meetings. You can see that I have the total attention of the crowd. I think that Scott was also listening in on any little secret that I might reveal.
You can't see it because of her sun glasses, but Patsy is really asleep.

Nitro Harley's

The Bristol race was my first time seeing the Nitro Harley's. What I have seen of them on tv was not that impressive. These bikes are a bit on the extreme side. I asked one of the riders how much horse power it had and he said " oh I don't know around 900".

Now I don't know what you like to ride , but that didn't sound like anything I wanted to throw my leg over. The first couple of rounds they were a little disappointing. As the week end went on though they picked it up and put on a pretty good show. These fire breathing beasts would carry the front tire 1000 feet and when it came down it looked like a 747 landing. Times in the 6.20 range and speeds over 220. The riders would throw there ass from one side to the other steering this thing with the front wheel in the air and the bike perched on a 20 inch wide back tire. These guys were insane. Entertaining though.
This last picture is of the chain. I thought it was a double chain to hold this much horse power. Then I took a closer look and found that it had 4 plate links on each side with the Inside plate being a lot thicker than the other 3. A lot of respect goe's out to these guys. Check out the Spiderman on a so called Kawasaki. 100% hand made with small block Chevy rods.

the end

Well The bowling season is over. 32 weeks is a long time, but I don't know what else I would do on Monday night. I may have figured out what I was doing wrong , of course it was to late. Next year I will have something to start with though. The Seamen finished in 8th place after hanging around the top 4 spots the first half of the season. I finished with a 170...211...203.

Golfing Tue's looked like this.
Dave.....47
Henry....55
Cpt.........50
I had a good round going and then the beer took over.

Bristol

Man what a cool week end. Before we left home every forecast we looked at said that it was going to be cold and raining all week end. Boy are we glad they can't predict the weather. Sunny and mid 70's all Three days , with a few rain drops Sunday morning that delayed things about an hour. We got to our motel Friday afternoon and Barry had told us that he saved us a lot of money by booking this place early , so we were pretty happy about that. The picture is us arriving at the Robert E. Lee Motel. What a deal , we didn't have to fight any crowds , or put up with any bitchy neighbors about making to much noise. In the picture Andy may look a bit disappointed but got over it when he seen how much money he was saving.
So we put our bags in the room and headed for the track. When we got to the parking area the woman taking the money ask if we had tickets , we said no not yet. She offers us 4 Three day passes for half price. About 100 feet past the starting line 18 rows up. Perfect we'll take them. Now we save another 50 bucks a piece. All of this money saving adds up to one thing , I'll bet the folks at Miller Brewing told all employees that they would be on over time until further notice.
More to come.
