Bowling

I haven't posted any bowling scores this year so I thought it was time to bore you and there ain't much going on. Really there hasn't been much to say. The Seamen (my team) and Gittin wood (Barry's team) are battling in the bottom 25% of the league. This is ok because we are able to pick on each other and there is no pressure to do good to hold a top spot. You still want to bowl good or at least get your average , So you can F#%K with the ones that are on top. We really haven't bowled that well this year for what ever reason , but we are still having fun. Last week I picked up the 6,7,10 split for the first time in my many years of bowling. This weeks scores looked like this.
Henry (the Beast ) 172....154....180
Barry ( Caulkboy ) 153....155....176
Me... ( Cpt. ).... 218....174....233
I'll try not to bore you with to many scores , its a lot more fun to be there than to read about it.

Week end

The week end started on Friday night , taking in an indoor moto-x at the Calsonic arena in Shelbyville. This is one of Ryan's favorite events.

Its a lot of fun because the classes range from first time riders to pro riders. Watching the variety of riders on the same track is pretty entertaining. The difference is evident. Still my opinion is the 4 wheelers are insane and far more dangerous. After breathing smoke and dust till midnight it was time to go home get a couple hours of sleep then head back to Chapel hill for Erin's last basketball game.

Not the NBA but they did get away with as much traveling. A battle to the end with Erin's team winning 10 to 8. This was the first time that I ever seen a bobble head trophy. Pretty cool. Good job Erin.

Walk Man

I was going through some of my junk the other day and run across what I believe to be one of the first walk man radio's to be found. Just for shits and giggles I put a battery in it and it picked up 650 WSM just as clear as I remember it.

My Dad wore this thing everywhere while working around the house. If he was working in the garden or in the garage or what ever he had his radio with him. Now in the early 70's you couldn't go to Walmart and buy a piece of art like this one. The radio is an old GE am (no fm in those days)only. The pouch I think must be an old purse that he cut up and hand sewed together with fishing string.

The buckle must be off of a watch or possibly off of the purse. Staples are the weapon of choice to attach the strap that will secure the radio in the pouch. To hook the walk man to your belt a clip from a pair of suspenders was used. Very handy to remove the radio for some station ajustment (needed every 5 minutes ).

This may look crude to most people but I guess I got this from my Dad. Why buy it if you can make it yourself. You should have seen some of the things he could make out of cardboard , contact paper and duck tape , amazing. He's been gone since 1984 and I sure miss him.

Kawasaki sardines

I can't believe that there hasn't been a government study on this , so I conducted my own. How many Kawasaki's can you get on a 3 foot platform? Well the answer is 2.

With the wheel chock's in place I could load the mighty steeds on the platform to see if all my shade tree engineering would work. So far so good.
